Summary of Position: General Promotions and/or Masquerader Recruitment
Duration: Short Term volunteers are working on event promotion for a one month duration to highlight E.P.I.C Carnival events leading up to Carnival.
Summer Term volunteers are working on event promotion for a 3 months duration spanning May – August. These volunteers are responsible for promoting E.P.I.C Carnival events leading up to Carnival as well as recruiting masqueraders for E.P.I.C Carnival at a variety of community events across Toronto.
Responsibilities: Promotions Volunteers are responsible for recruiting of masqueraders and will be given individual promotional codes to track recruitment numbers. Event promotion for Masquerader recruitment at Club/social events

Customer Service
Volunteer Profiles |Customer Service
Summary of Position: Customer Service
Duration: Event Volunteers are flexible to choose between commitments of 1 month or 3 months. Hours of the Mas camp will increase as the carnival approaches.
Responsibilities: This role includes assisting with customer service at the front desk of our mas camp. This role will include greeting customers and accompanying to showroom, answer costume and parade inquiries, assisting with the registration process. May occasionally answer phones and have light maintenance duties.

Event Support
Volunteer Profiles | Event Set-up & Staging
Summary of Position: Event Support
Duration: Event Volunteers are flexible to choose between commitments of 1 month or 3 months. E.P.I.C Carnival will require dedicated volunteers for staging costumes, hanging banners, truck construction, general event preparation etc. at various season events and the day-of the parade.
Responsibilities: This role includes assisting with set-up and tear-down of events leading up to and including Carnival. Leading up to Carnival, this role may include assisting with ticket collection at events, coat-check, and other general event preparation roles. At Carnival, this role will expand to staging, in which dedicated volunteers will assist in the set-up of large costumes and the truck set up for the parade.

Costume Support
Volunteer Profiles | Costume Support
Summary of Position: Costume Designing, Fitting & Parade Assistance
Duration: Event Volunteers are flexible to choose between commitments of 1 month or 3 months.
Long-term Costume Volunteers are preferred for costume construction as this is an ongoing role during the summer. E.P.I.C Carnival will require some of these same dedicated volunteers for parade marshalling. Their experience with costume construction during the summer ensures they are most knowledgeable to assist masqueraders on the road.
Short-term volunteers are welcome to join in costume construction during the summer.
Responsibilities: Assist in the design and construction of carnival costumes. Marshal on the week of Carnival to provide costume assistance

Relief Marshall
Volunteer Profiles | Parade Marshal, Relief
Summary of Position: Team Support
Duration: Volunteer commitments are usually 1 month for this position and are required on the day-of Carnival (and potentially other related events) for parade marshalling.
Responsibilities: Parade Marshal Volunteers will assist section leaders with their masqueraders. Jobs include directing masqueraders throughout route, direct to refreshments/food, act as a runner for Band Team to provide refreshments/food, hold signs if required and provide any relief as necessary for section leaders or other team members.

Parade Safety Marshall

Summary of Position: Safety and Team Support
Duration: Volunteer commitments are usually 1 month for this position and are required on the day-of Carnival (and potentially other related events) for parade marshalling.
Responsibilities: Parade Marshal Volunteers will ensure masquerader safety the day of Carnival and provide support as needed for Team members.
